What it is
This is a Potterton sealing washer, supplied as WASHER NBR 3/8 INCH BSP - SEALING. It is a nitrile rubber (NBR) washer sized to 3/8 inch BSP and is used to seal a threaded joint on Potterton Powermax HE appliances. Its function is to compress between mating faces and stop water or gas escaping from the connection.

- Washer deformed or split after the joint has been disturbed
- Residual debris or scale on the sealing face after a component has been removed
