What it is
This is the O-ring seal used on the domestic hot water plate heat exchanger fitted to Halstead combi boilers. It seals the joint between the plate heat exchanger and the DHW circuit, preventing water loss at the connection. The part is manufactured by Halstead and carries the part number 500600.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the plate heat exchanger connection
- Staining, corrosion or scale deposits around the DHW plate heat exchanger joint
- The O-ring is hardened, flattened, cracked or swollen on inspection
- Water loss or pressure drop traced to the plate heat exchanger seal
- The O-ring has been disturbed during plate heat exchanger removal or cleaning
