What it is
The Halstead 500581 is an ignition printed circuit board supplied as a control box assembly for Halstead gas boilers. It carries the ignition and flame-supervision circuitry, generating the spark at the electrode and monitoring the flame signal so the appliance can prove ignition and move through its start sequence. It is the board used across the Quattro and Wickes 2000 appliance families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler goes to lockout on a call for heat, with no spark at the electrode.
- Ignition is intermittent — the appliance fires on some attempts and fails on others.
- The fan and pump run but the burner never lights, and the fault repeats after resetting.
- Visible damage on the board: scorching, discoloured tracks, leaking capacitors or a blown fuse.
- The appliance shows no response at all to a demand for heat or hot water.
