What it is

The Halstead 500570 is a printed circuit board (PCB) manufactured by Halstead for use in its Best range of appliances. It is the main control board, handling the appliance's operating sequence and the electrical signals that drive the fan, gas valve, pump and temperature sensing circuits. The board is supplied as a single unit and is identified by part number 500570.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance fails to respond to a demand for heat or hot water, with no ignition sequence starting.
  • Repeated lockouts or fault codes that clear only after a power reset and then return.
  • Erratic behaviour from the fan, pump or gas valve, such as components running when they should be off or not running when called.
  • No display, no status indication or a board that is visibly scorched, discoloured or has failed tracks and components.
  • Intermittent operation that changes with temperature or vibration around the control panel.

Before you order

  • Check the appliance model and GC number against the compatibility list, as the Best 30 and Best 40 variants use different board revisions.
  • Confirm the numbers on the existing board match 500570, 1292322 or N6482 before ordering.
  • Inspect the wiring harness, plugs and earth connections at the same time, as damaged connectors can mimic a board fault.
  • This board is not classified as a gas-carrying component, but any work inside the appliance casing should be carried out by a competent person.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
