What it is
The Halstead 450908 is an automatic air vent used across a range of Halstead gas boilers and sealed system appliances. It continuously releases trapped air from the heating circuit, helping to prevent airlocks, noisy circulation and pressure instability. It is fitted where air naturally collects in the system, typically at the boiler's highest internal point.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the vent body or cap
- Persistent gurgling or air noise in the boiler after bleeding
- Radiators or the boiler needing frequent manual bleeding
- System pressure dropping repeatedly with no visible leak elsewhere
- Corrosion, scale build-up or a blocked vent that no longer releases air
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the fit list above
- Check the serial number prefix where a model is listed as FROM or UP TO a given number
- Compare the existing vent's body and connection with the part shown before fitting
- Confirm the boiler is a Halstead unit, as Wickes-badged models use Halstead parts
