What it is
The Altecnic 3/4 Lockshield Angled Radiator Valve is a lockshield-pattern radiator valve with a 3/4 connection, supplied as part of the Altecnic rad valve range. The lockshield head is set with a key or spanner rather than a handwheel, so the balancing position is not disturbed in normal use. The angled body pattern is intended where the pipework meets the radiator connection at an angle to the valve outlet.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Dripping or weeping from the valve spindle, particularly when the system is hot
- The valve will not shut off fully, so the radiator cannot be isolated
- Water tracking from the compression nut or tail connection
- The spindle is seized or the head is damaged, so the setting cannot be adjusted
