What it is
The Honeywell 40002737-003 is a 240V synchron motor that drives the powerhead of a Honeywell motorised valve. It sits inside the valve head and turns the mechanism that opens and closes the flow path in domestic heating and hot water circuits. One motor is used across all V4043, V4044 and V4073 series motorised valves.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The valve head does not move when the programmer or room thermostat calls for heat
- Heating or hot water stays on permanently, or never comes on, because the valve is stuck in one position
- The motor hums or buzzes but the valve spindle does not turn
- The powerhead runs intermittently or stalls, giving inconsistent flow through the valve
- The manual lever moves freely but the head does not drive the valve

- Confirm the valve series and the part number stamped on the existing powerhead before ordering
- The powerhead assembly can be replaced without draining down the system
- Check the wiring at the existing head; the two-wire connection is polarity free, so either wire can go to either terminal
- Insulated screw connectors are provided with the motor for the wiring joint
