What it is
The Ferroli 39838970 is a flame sensing lead used on Ferroli gas boilers. It connects the flame sensing electrode to the boiler control board, allowing the PCB to confirm that a flame has been established and to shut off the gas supply if it has not.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler fails to ignite or locks out during the ignition sequence
- Flame is established but the boiler shuts down shortly afterwards
- Intermittent ignition faults or repeated lockouts
- Flame detection fault codes shown on the boiler display
- Damaged, brittle or discoloured lead insulation at the electrode or PCB end
