What it is
This is Ferroli's secondary heat exchanger, fitted to F30B combination boilers. It sits downstream of the primary heat exchanger and transfers heat from the primary circuit into the domestic hot water that runs to your taps.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Reduced or fluctuating hot water temperature at the tap
- Boiler fires for heating but hot water runs cold or lukewarm
- Leaking or weeping around the heat exchanger casing
- Sludge or scale build-up restricting water flow through the unit
