What it is
The Ferroli 39800960 is a 7 litre expansion vessel used in Ferroli gas boilers, including Combi, Domicondens, Optima and Divatop models. It absorbs the increase in water volume as the heating circuit warms up, keeping system pressure stable inside the boiler. This part replaces manufacturer code 811770.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler pressure rises sharply when the heating is running and falls again once the system cools
- System pressure drops repeatedly and the boiler needs frequent topping up
- Water discharging from the pressure relief valve discharge pipe
- Boiler locks out or displays a low pressure fault
- Knocking or banging noises from the boiler as it heats up
