What it is
The Ferroli 39800170 is a 100°C limit thermostat used on a range of Ferroli gas boilers. It acts as an overheat safety device, breaking the circuit to shut the appliance down if the water temperature reaches the set limit. It is listed as a replacement for the earlier code 819990.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler repeatedly locks out on overheat, even with good circulation.
- The appliance fails to fire or shuts down shortly after ignition.
- The thermostat does not reset when the boiler has cooled.
- Continuity testing shows the thermostat open when it should be closed, or closed when it should be open.
- Visible damage, corrosion or a loose or burnt connection at the thermostat terminals.
