What it is
The Hamworthy 339007844 is a thermocouple intended for Hamworthy Ur series gas boilers with permanent pilot ignition. It generates the small voltage that holds the gas valve open while the pilot flame is lit, closing the valve if the flame is lost.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The pilot flame lights but will not stay alight once the control knob is released.
- The pilot extinguishes repeatedly during normal running.
- The boiler fails to fire even though a pilot flame is present.
- The pilot can only be kept lit by holding the control knob in continuously.
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model against the fit list above, as the part is listed for specific Ur series floor standing boilers.
- Check the existing thermocouple connection and routing before ordering to confirm the part is accessible on your appliance.
- Have the appliance isolated and the gas supply turned off before any work, and confirm that any gas-carrying work is carried out by a competent person.
