What it is
The Ariston 319516 is an anode assembly with a diameter of 21 mm and a length of 1200 mm, supplied with a plug. It is fitted in the stored water side of Ariston water heaters and cylinders, where the anode protects the internal tank surface from corrosion over the service life of the appliance. Once the anode has been consumed, the tank itself becomes the sacrificial component, so replacement at the correct interval is standard practice.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Hot water has a metallic taste, or carries an odour that was not present before
- Discoloured or cloudy hot water drawn from the cylinder
- Rumbling, popping or knocking noises from the cylinder as it heats
- The anode, when drawn for inspection, is heavily consumed, coated or largely spent
- Corrosion or weeping around the anode boss or tank connections
Before you order
- Confirm the existing anode measures 21 mm diameter and 1200 mm long
- Check the plug fitting and thread on the existing anode match the new item before removal is started
- Confirm the appliance model and edition against the fit list above
- Check that the anode boss is accessible and that there is clearance to withdraw a 1200 mm anode from the cylinder
