What it is
The Altecnic 314430 is a 1/2 inch safety relief valve with male and female threaded connections, set to open at 3 bar. It is used on heating and boiler systems to discharge excess pressure and protect the appliance and its components from over-pressurisation. The valve is supplied with a pressure gauge.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or discharging from the outlet when system pressure is normal
- System pressure rising above the set point without the valve opening
- The valve fails to reseat and continues to drip after discharging
- Gauge readings that no longer match actual system pressure
- Visible scale, corrosion or debris around the valve seat or outlet
