What it is
The Altecnic 1/2F/F 8 bar Safety Relief Valve with gauge is a pressure relief valve for boiler and pressure reducing valve installations. It opens at its 8 bar set pressure to discharge excess pressure and protect the appliance and system components. The valve has 1/2 in female inlet and outlet connections and is supplied with a fitted pressure gauge for local pressure indication.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping from the valve outlet or from around the body when the system is below the set pressure
- System pressure climbing above the set point without the valve discharging
- The valve passing continuously, causing repeated pressure loss and frequent top-ups
- Gauge reading sticking, drifting or failing to return to zero
- Corrosion, scale build-up or a stiff, seized lifting mechanism on the valve
