What it is
The Altecnic 1/2 M/F Safety Relief Valve is a pressure relief valve set to open at 7 bar, used to discharge excess pressure from a heating system before it reaches unsafe levels. It is manufactured by Altecnic for boiler applications. The valve has a 1/2 male inlet and a 1/2 female outlet connection format.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping continuously from the valve outlet when the system is below the set pressure
- The valve failing to reseat and shut off after a normal pressure discharge
- System pressure unable to hold, with repeated discharge through the relief pipework
- Visible scale, corrosion or debris around the valve seat or outlet
- A manual test that no longer moves freely or does not return to the closed position
Before you order
- Confirm the connection size and male/female configuration match the existing valve
- Check that the 7 bar set pressure is correct for the appliance and system design pressure
- Verify the valve is suitable for the boiler model and its discharge arrangement
- Inspect the mounting position and orientation so the replacement can be fitted without modification
