What it is
The Altecnic 1/2 M/F 2.5 bar Safety Relief Valve is a pressure relief device used on boiler and pressure reducing valve installations. It discharges water when system pressure reaches the 2.5 bar set point, protecting downstream components from over-pressure. Connections are 1/2 inch male and female.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the discharge pipe when system pressure is below the set point
- System pressure rising above 2.5 bar with no call for heat
- The valve fails to reseat and continues to pass water after relieving
