The Altecnic 311460 is a brass safety relief valve set to open at 6 bar. It protects a sealed heating system, boiler or unvented hot water cylinder by releasing water if system pressure rises too high.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Valve weeps or drips continuously rather than only under excess pressure
- Valve is seized and doesn't lift when tested
- Visible corrosion, scale or limescale build-up on the valve body
