What it is
The 1/2F/F 1.5 bar Safety Relief Valve is an Altecnic pressure relief valve for boiler installations. It opens at its set pressure of 1.5 bar to discharge excess pressure and protect the appliance and system from over-pressurisation. Both connections are female threaded at 1/2 inch.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or discharging from the valve outlet when system pressure is below the set pressure
- The valve fails to open and relieve pressure during a test lift, or is seized shut
- Pressure continues to rise past 1.5 bar without discharge
- Visible scale, corrosion or debris around the valve seat or outlet
- A discharge that will not reseat and continues to drip after pressure drops back
