What it is
The Altecnic temperature and pressure relief valve (TPRV) is a safety valve used on boiler systems within the Altecnic TPRVs range. It opens at 7 bar or 90°C to relieve excess system pressure or temperature through a 3/4 x 22mm connection. A 99mm probe acts as the temperature-sensing element.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Continuous drip or weep from the discharge outlet when the system is at normal pressure
- The valve fails to open during a pressure or temperature test
- Visible scale, corrosion or debris on the valve seat, body or probe
- Water discharging at temperatures or pressures below the 7 bar / 90°C settings
- Damage or leakage at the valve body, probe or connection
