What it is
The Myson 308S117 is a pilot burner top socket, supplied as part of the pilot assembly on Myson Housewarmer back boiler units. It sits at the top of the pilot burner and holds the pilot flame in position so the flame supervision device can sense it and keep the gas valve open. The part is used across the Housewarmer 30/45 BBU and 45 BBU ranges, including the Economy, Elegant, Epic and Sable fire fronts.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The pilot flame lights but will not hold once the button is released.
- The pilot flame is weak, yellow or visibly lifting away from the burner top.
- Soot or carbon deposits build up around the pilot burner head.
- Repeated ignition attempts are needed before the pilot establishes.
- The pilot flame flickers or extinguishes intermittently during normal running.
