What it is

The Riello long electrode (extended electrode) is an ignition component for Riello RLS series burners. It sits in the burner head and provides the spark that lights the fuel and air mixture at start-up. It is supplied as a Riello burner spare under part number 3013275.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Burner goes to lockout at start-up with no established flame
  • No visible spark at the electrode tip during the ignition sequence
  • Electrode tip eroded, rounded or heavily carbonised
  • Cracked or discoloured ceramic insulator on the electrode
  • Spark tracking or arcing to earth instead of across the gap

  • Inspect the electrode holder, lead and ignition transformer before replacing the electrode alone
  • Isolate the electrical supply and shut off the fuel before any work on the burner
