What it is
The Riello 3012091 is a photo cell used on Riello RL00/M oil burners. It detects the presence of flame in the combustion chamber and signals the burner control box, which holds the burner running while flame is proven and shuts it down when flame is lost.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Burner locks out shortly after ignition even though flame is visibly established
- Repeated lockouts requiring the reset button to be pressed each time
- Flame lights, then the control box shuts the burner down as if no flame were present
- Photocell lens sooted, cracked, discoloured or otherwise obscured
Before you order
- Confirm the burner model is RL00/M
- Check the part number on the existing photo cell against 3012091
- Inspect the photocell lens and its holder for sooting or damage before condemning the cell
- Rule out the burner control box and ignition components as the cause of the lockout
