Signs this part needs replacing

  • The burner runs to lockout without igniting, and repeated resets do not clear it
  • No spark is visible at the electrode tips when the burner is called to fire
  • The electrode tips are heavily carboned, eroded or pitted
  • Cracks, tracking marks or damage to the ceramic insulation on the electrode
  • The electrode gap has widened or the assembly no longer sits correctly in the combustion head
