What it is

The Riello UV flame detector (reference QRA2M, part number 3003396) is a flame monitoring device fitted to Riello oil burners. It senses ultraviolet radiation from the flame and signals the burner control box that combustion has been established and is being maintained. It is used across the Riello Enne/emme and Gi/emme burner families.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The burner fires and then locks out, with no flame signal registered by the control box
  • Repeated or intermittent lockouts during normal running
  • The burner starts but the control box does not detect flame and shuts the fuel supply
  • Fault diagnosis points to a missing or unstable flame signal rather than a fuel or ignition fault
