What it is
The Navien 30022885E is a flame detection electrode used in the LCB 700 range of gas boilers. It sits in the combustion circuit and provides the flame signal that the control board uses to confirm the burner has lit and is burning safely. The electrode has a 3.0 mm diameter probe.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out shortly after the burner lights, or fails to complete a firing cycle
- Repeated ignition attempts with the burner lighting and then dropping out
- Flame failure faults logged intermittently, particularly in damp or cold conditions
- Visible damage to the electrode probe, ceramic insulator or its lead
- Soot or heavy deposits bridging the electrode and earth, causing an unstable flame signal
