What it is
The Riello 509 SE is a burner control box supplied by Riello as part of its gas burner spares range. It governs the burner's operating sequence, supervising start-up, flame proving and shutdown so the appliance runs within its safety limits. It is fitted across a number of Riello GAS 3, GAS 4 and R40 GS series gas burners.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The burner runs through pre-purge but fails to fire, repeatedly going to lockout.
- Lockout occurs at random intervals with no consistent fault elsewhere in the burner.
- The burner will not start at all, with no ignition sequence initiated from the control box.
- The lockout reset button has to be pressed repeatedly to keep the burner running.
- The control box shows signs of heat damage, moisture ingress or a burnt smell.
