What it is
The high limit stat is a safety thermostat used on Navien NCB-CE, NCB300 and NCB500 combi and system boilers. It monitors boiler temperature and interrupts the burner circuit if the set limit is exceeded, protecting the appliance from overheating. It is supplied by Navien under part number 30002558A.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out or shuts down during a demand for heat
- Overheat or high limit fault codes appear on the boiler display
- The appliance repeatedly cycles or cuts the burner short of temperature
- The stat shows no continuity when tested, or reads open circuit at ambient temperature
- Heating and hot water are interrupted until the boiler is reset
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model against the fitment list above
- Check the serial number of your appliance against the model reference
- Verify the existing stat part number before removing it
- Isolate the power and water supply before any work on the boiler
