What it is

The Reznor flame probe 30-12-174 is a flame sensing component used on Reznor cabinet heaters fitted with Riello 40 burners. It sits in the burner combustion area and supplies the flame signal to the burner control box, which shuts the burner down if flame is not proved.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Burner locks out shortly after the ignition sequence with no flame signal registered
  • Repeated lockouts on start-up that clear only after the probe is cleaned or replaced
  • Intermittent shutdowns while the burner is running
  • Cracks, soot or contamination visible on the probe ceramic or sensing tip
  • Flame appears to light but the control box still fails to prove flame
