What it is
The Alpha 3.027699 Spares Fan Kit is a combustion fan assembly supplied by Alpha for use in its E-TEC and Evoke gas boiler ranges. The fan draws the flue gases through the heat exchanger and discharges them to atmosphere, and it also provides the air pressure signal used by the boiler to prove safe combustion. It is a serviceable component intended for replacement when the existing fan fails or becomes noisy.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out or fails to fire, with a fan or flue-related fault indicated
- Grinding, rumbling or whining noise from the fan area during or after ignition
- Fan runs intermittently, at varying speed, or not at all when demand is present
- Repeated lockouts shortly after the boiler starts, cleared by a reset
- Visible damage, stiffness or play when the fan is rotated by hand
