What it is

The Alpha Primary Heat Exchanger Seal Kit is a set of gaskets, O-rings, seals and washers used to seal the primary heat exchanger on Alpha Intec, Eco and Intec ERP appliances. It keeps the joint between the heat exchanger and its connections tight, so air, gas and water cannot escape from the assembly. Because of their size and thickness, these seals are specific to their location within the appliance and are rarely interchangeable with seals from other positions.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or staining around the primary heat exchanger joint
  • A drop in system pressure that returns after topping up
  • Visible hardening, flattening, cracking or perishing of the seals
  • Soot marks, condensation or draughts at the heat exchanger face suggesting a poor seal
  • Seals disturbed during heat exchanger removal or servicing that will not reseat cleanly
