What it is

The Alpha 3.019689 is a diverter valve assembly supplied with its motor, used in Alpha CB50 and CD50 gas boilers. It switches the boiler's flow between domestic hot water and central heating, with the motor driving the valve between the two positions. The assembly replaces earlier codes 3.011991 and 3.014018.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Domestic hot water runs hot then cold, or only heats when the heating is off
  • Radiators warm up when only hot water is drawn
  • No hot water at the tap while the heating is running
  • The valve motor does not move, or the valve body is stiff or jammed
  • Water weeping from the valve body or spindle area
