What it is
This is a multi-way cable assembly manufactured by Alpha for its CD R-series LPG boilers. It carries the wiring between the gas valve, overheat thermostat, ignition generator, transformer and flame supervision lead. The assembly is supplied as a single loom with the relevant connectors fitted.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler fails to ignite or locks out intermittently with no other fault found
- Overheat thermostat trips repeatedly despite correct water flow and circulation
- Gas valve does not open when the boiler receives a call for heat
- Visible scorching, brittleness or chafing on the cable insulation or connectors
- Fault reappears when the loom is moved or the connectors are disturbed
