What it is
The Alpha 3.016099/IM is an NTC temperature sensor (thermistor) used on Alpha CD, CDS and Intech boilers. An NTC thermistor changes resistance as its temperature rises, letting the boiler's control board read water or component temperature and regulate operation accordingly.
