What it is

The Alpha diverter valve assembly is a hydraulic component found in combi boilers, where it controls whether heated water is sent to the central heating circuit or to the domestic hot water circuit. On a demand for hot water the valve moves to divert flow away from the radiators and through the plate heat exchanger; when the tap closes it returns flow to the heating system. This assembly is built for the Alpha CD C and CD X combi boiler families.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Radiators warm up when only a hot tap is running
  • Hot water runs but the heating circuit stays cold
  • Domestic hot water temperature fluctuates or runs cold during use
  • Water weeping from the valve body, spindle or connections
  • The valve fails to move between the heating and hot water positions

Before you order

  • Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the compatibility list to confirm the correct variant for your boiler.
  • Confirm the number on the existing valve matches 3.015562 or one of the alternative numbers listed.
  • Inspect the seals and gaskets when the valve is removed and replace any that are worn.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
