What it is

This is the internal wiring cable that links the main printed circuit board to the diverter PCB on Alpha gas boilers. It carries the control signals between the two boards so the diverter valve operates in line with demand. The part is supplied by Alpha under part number 3.014699.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The diverter valve does not move when the boiler calls for heating or hot water
  • Intermittent or complete loss of communication between the main PCB and the diverter PCB
  • Fault codes relating to the diverter valve or PCB communication
  • Visible damage to the cable, such as scorching, brittleness or exposed conductors
  • Loose or corroded plug connections at either board end
