What it is
The Alpha 3.012705 is a sight glass supplied with a sealing grommet, used on a range of Alpha gas boilers. It allows the flame and combustion area to be viewed through the boiler casing, while the grommet seals the opening around the glass. It is listed by the manufacturer under gas boiler spares.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The glass is clouded, discoloured or stained, making the flame difficult to see
- Cracks, chips or crazing in the glass
- Condensation or moisture trapped between the glass and the grommet
- The grommet has hardened, cracked or perished and no longer seals
- Staining or soot marks around the sight glass opening
Before you order
- Check your boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above
- Confirm the existing sight glass and grommet match part number 3.012705
- Note that several of the listed models are LPG variants
- Inspect the grommet seating area for damage before fitting
