What it is
The ZA6/779-2 is a two-port zone valve manufactured by Drayton Controls, supplied with a removable head. It controls the flow of water through a circuit on a pumped central heating system, opening and closing in response to a demand signal from the programmer, room thermostat or cylinder thermostat. The removable head allows the actuator to be serviced or exchanged without disturbing the valve body or the pipework.
Before you order
- Confirm the pipework is 28mm and that a two-port valve is what the circuit requires.
- Check the wiring arrangement at the existing valve — this unit uses a six-wire connection with an SPDT switch, so the wiring centre terminals must be compatible.
- Verify the actuator head can be removed and refitted in the available space, as access above the valve body is needed.
- Check the system voltage and controls wiring against the valve's switching arrangement before commissioning.
