What it is

The Drayton ZA5/679-2 (part number 27100) is a 2-port motorised zone valve for domestic wet central heating systems. It pairs a 22mm compression valve body with a snap-on ZA5 actuator, giving 100% tight shut-off to control an individual heating or hot water zone.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Valve fails to open or close on demand from the room thermostat or programmer
  • Manual lever will not move the valve or the position indicator does not change
  • Water flows to a zone that should be shut off, or heat is lost to hot water only
  • Actuator hums or clicks but the valve body does not move
  • Leaking at the valve body or connections

Before you order

  • Match the part number 27100 or model ZA5/679-2 against the valve being replaced, including the 22mm connection size
  • Isolate electrical power before disconnecting wiring, and be prepared for some water loss when removing the valve body
  • A Gas Safe registered engineer should be involved where the valve forms part of the boiler's controls
