What it is
The Baxi 248037 ignition electrode lead is a replacement lead for the ignition electrode on Baxi and Potterton combi and system boilers. It carries the ignition voltage from the PCB to the electrode, producing the spark that lights the burner. The lead is used across a range of Baxi Combi, Baxi System, Potterton Performa and Potterton Performa System models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler attempts to fire but does not ignite, often followed by a lockout
- No spark visible at the ignition electrode when the boiler is calling for heat
- Cracking, burning or brittleness on the lead insulation
- Intermittent ignition or repeated lockouts after the boiler has been running normally
- Loose or corroded connections at either end of the lead
