What it is
The Plate Heat Exchanger is a Heatrae Sadia component supplied for the HI-MAX Store range of unvented hot water cylinders. It transfers heat between the primary circuit and the stored domestic hot water through a stack of corrugated plates. The part carries the manufacturer reference 24100040 and is identified in the catalogue listing as the CB18-39H or 40H plate heat exchanger.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Poor or falling hot water recovery at the cylinder outlet
- Reduced temperature difference between the primary flow and return across the exchanger
- Visible scale, sludge or corrosion build-up between the plates
- Leaks or weeping from the plate pack or its connections
- Repeated overheat or high-limit trips linked to restricted heat transfer
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and size against the HI-MAX Store range listed above.
- Check the existing exchanger marking to verify the CB18-39H or 40H identification.
- Inspect the primary circuit for sludge or scale, as contamination can affect the new exchanger.
- Verify the cylinder's installation and service documentation before ordering.
