What it is

The Baxi burner assembly (232435) is the component that carries and ignites the gas/air mixture inside a Bermuda appliance. Gas is fed through the gas valve and into the burner, where ignition takes place and a flame is established. The heat generated at the burner is then transferred to the water in the master heat exchanger.

This is a gas-carrying part, so it sits within the combustion circuit of the appliance and must be fitted and commissioned correctly.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance fails to ignite, or ignition is intermittent and the burner will not stay lit.
  • The flame is weak, uneven or noticeably yellow rather than a steady blue.
  • Sooting or blackening appears around the burner or on the heat exchanger surfaces.
  • Flame lift, flame roll-out or an unstable flame pattern at the burner.
  • Repeated lockouts or a drop in heat output to the master heat exchanger despite the appliance running.

Before you order

  • Check the appliance GC number and model against the compatibility list, as several Bermuda variants use different burner arrangements.
  • Confirm the number on the existing burner matches 232435 or one of the alternative/previous numbers listed below before ordering.
  • Inspect the burner gasket and any seals on removal, as these are commonly disturbed during the swap and may need replacing at the same time.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
