What it is
The Baxi Solo 2 fan assembly draws fresh air into the combustion chamber and helps expel the products of combustion through the flue, for safe and efficient boiler operation. It is essential for ignition; if the fan fails, the boiler will lock out.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out on an ignition or air-pressure fault
- Fan making grinding, rattling or humming noises
- Fan slow to start, or not spinning at all
- Boiler cycling on and off due to an airflow fault
- Visible physical damage to the fan housing
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above
- Check whether your model is a higher-output 70/80 PF variant, which uses a different fan
- This is a gas appliance component and must be fitted by a Gas Safe registered engineer
- Isolate the electrical and gas supply before removal
