What it is
The Elbow Radiator Valve 3/4 is an Altecnic radiator valve from the Ecocal rad valves range. It is an elbow-pattern valve, meaning the outlet turns through 90 degrees to suit pipework that meets the radiator at right angles. It controls water flow into the radiator on a pumped central heating system.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping from the spindle when the valve is turned
- The valve head seizes or will not rotate through its full travel
- The valve passes water when fully closed, so the radiator cannot be isolated
- Corrosion or damp staining around the valve body or compression nuts
- Dripping from the gland or cap nut area during operation
