What it is
The Sime 2010183 is an M6 flange nut in AISI304 stainless steel, used to secure the heat exchanger flange on Sime gas boilers. It forms part of the flange joint that seals the primary heat exchanger connection, so it must hold correct torque to keep the joint sound. The stainless steel grade resists corrosion in the damp conditions found around a boiler's hydraulic components.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible corrosion, pitting or rust staining on the nut or surrounding flange
- Rounded or seized hex flats, making correct torque impossible to apply
- Weeping or damp traces at the exchanger flange joint
- Nut removed during flange or gasket work and found damaged or stretched
- Repeated loosening of the flange joint after tightening
