What it is

The Navien O-ring EPDM P28 is a black elastomer sealing ring measuring 27.7 mm internal diameter by 3.5 mm cross-section, rated at 70 Shore A hardness. It is used within the hydraulic assemblies of Navien NCB500 combi boilers to seal a joint against water loss. The EPDM compound is suited to hot water and heating circuit conditions.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or a visible drip at the joint the O-ring seals
  • The ring has hardened, flattened or lost its round cross-section
  • Cracking, splitting or surface crazing on the rubber
  • Water staining or corrosion around the sealing face
  • The ring is damaged or displaced when the joint is opened for other work
