What it is

A silicone O-ring supplied by Navien for use in NCB-CE ERP system and combination boilers. It measures 39.4 x 3.1 mm and is rated at 70 Shore hardness, giving a flexible, heat-resistant seal at the joint it is fitted to. The O-ring forms the watertight seal that prevents weeping or leakage from the assembly it sits in.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible water weeping or a drip trail around the joint the O-ring seals
  • The O-ring has flattened, hardened or lost its round cross-section
  • Cracking, splitting or surface crazing on the silicone
  • A recurring pressure loss that traces back to the sealed joint
  • Discolouration or deformation after long service at temperature
