What it is
The Navien fan packing (part number 20022744A) is a sealing component that sits within the fan assembly of Navien NCB-CE boilers and NPE-AWE and NPE-SWE models. It seals the fan housing to prevent air leakage and to keep the fan located correctly during operation. A worn packing can allow air to escape or be drawn in around the fan, affecting combustion performance and producing noise.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Whistling or hissing from the fan area during operation
- Increased fan noise or vibration
- Air leakage detected around the fan housing
- Visible deterioration, flattening or hardening of the packing
- Combustion readings drifting outside the expected range
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and serial number against the fitment list above
- Check the part number 20022744A matches the component being replaced
- Inspect the fan assembly for damage or wear before refitting
