What it is

A truss head Taptite screw with washer, size M4 x 6, designated S10A, supplied by Navien. It is a thread-forming fixing used on Navien NCB-CE, NCB300 and NCB500 series gas boilers. It secures components and casing parts where a wide, low-profile head and load-spreading washer are required.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The screw is missing from its fixing point, leaving a panel or component loose.
  • The head is rounded or chewed, so the screw can no longer be driven or removed cleanly.
  • Corrosion or surface damage on the screw or washer.
  • The washer is deformed, split or no longer seating flat against the head.
  • The screw will not hold torque and spins in its hole after repeated removal and refitting.
