What it is
The Glow-worm earth wire is a 700mm earthing lead used within the electrical circuit of Glow-worm GW series gas boilers. It provides a bonded earth path between the appliance chassis and the relevant electrical components, maintaining the safety earth required for correct and safe operation. The lead is supplied to length for the models listed below.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible fraying, chafing or exposed conductor along the earth lead
- Corrosion or heat discolouration at the ring terminal or crimp
- Loose or poor contact at the earthing point, causing intermittent continuity
- Cracked or perished insulation on the wire
- Earth continuity test reading outside the expected value during a service or safety check
